On May 31, 2025, the “Green Energetic Neighbourhood” workshop took place at Arena Przywidz in the Municipality of Przywidz (Fig. 1), as part of the European Union’s Sustainable Energy Days initiative under the umbrella of EU Sustainable Energy Week 2025 (#EUSEW2025).
The event was organized by the Polish partners of SERENE – the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IMP PAN), Energa-Operator S.A., Gmina Przywidz, and Grupa STAY-ON. The workshop gathered residents, local stakeholders, and experts to collectively explore a vision for a sustainable energy transition in the municipality.

The session began with a creative group exercise, designed not only as an ice breaker but also as a thought-provoking start to the dialogue on Przywidz’s energy future. Participants then engaged in dynamic discussions focused on the energy evolution of the municipality, sharing ideas and reflecting on current challenges and aspirations.
The highlight of the event was a dedicated workshop on the “energetic neighbourhood” – a concept rooted in the idea of local energy communities and their potential to increase energy independence, support decarbonization, and empower citizens. The participants discussed both the opportunities and barriers associated with implementing such models in rural and semi-urban areas like Przywidz.
This interactive and inclusive event showcased the value of collaboration between research institutions, energy providers, local governments, and residents in shaping a more resilient, green, and community-driven energy system.
We extend our sincere thanks to all participants for their engagement, creativity, and commitment to building a greener future for Przywidz and beyond!
